Uranium glass, sometimes called Vaseline glass was extremely popular during the 1950 – 1970s. Uranium glass is glass which has had uranium added to it for coloration. Uranium is a naturally occurring, dense radioactive metal and is used as fuel in nuclear reactors. Since the amount is so low, these uranium glass dishes are completely harmless.
