Item description

This Winged Lion Gargoyle Statue is a handsome piece. Add a little class to your book shelf with one of these classic gargoyles. Hand painted to give a realistic stone look. A wonderfully diverse piece that could fit in nicely in most decor.

Made of a heavy cold cast resin and has a felted bottom. Measures approximately 6.5 inches tall, 4 1/4 inches deep, 3 1/4 inches wide. Because this is a hand painted item the finish my vary slightly.

Some of the earliest known Gargoyles were erected in ancient Egypt. Many of which, where lions. They stood to protect temples and the people within. Later in Medieval times, elaborate structures where built to surround cathedrals. In more modern times they were made to redirect water from larger buildings. To this day the Gargoyle remains a symbol as a spiritual protector and a staple to any gothic home.
