These owl stacking dolls are hand painted, wooden, and brand new. Five total owl dolls measuring from 3 1/2 inches to 5/8 of an inch. Since these are brand new, it might take a few time before they open and shut smoothly.

Nesting dolls consists of a wooden figurine, which separates at the middle, to reveal a smaller figure, which has, in turn, another figure inside of it, and so on. Also know as Matryoshka dolls or Russian dolls. The first of its kind was created by collaboration in Russia in 1890 by a wood craftsman and a painter.
