It’ll wait patiently for its prey to come near before grabbing it with it’s hooked forelimbs at lightning speeds. It’ll eat whatever it can catch, primarily insects, larger species will catch and eat small reptiles, fish, and even birds. The female praying mantis is notorious for consuming its mate’s head during mating.
This Praying Mantis (Hierodula petellifera) in Resin makes for an excellent educational display, decoration for your home, or great addition to your Insects and Oddities collection. Lucite block measures approx. 4 1/4 inches tall, 1 1/2 inches wide.
