Chinese Praying Mantis in Resin, Insects in Lucite

Approved by USFWS (Fish & Wildlife) legally obtained. This is a Chinese Mantis, it’s scientific name is Tenodera sinensis. This is a slender, brownish green praying mantis and is considered very long for the mantis family.

The praying mantis is a master ambush predator. It’ll wait patiently for its prey to come near before grabbing it with it’s hooked forelimbs at lightning speeds. It’ll eat whatever it can catch, primarily insects, larger species will catch and eat small reptiles, fish, and even birds. The female praying mantis is notorious for consuming its mate’s head during mating.

This Chinese Mantis in Resin makes for an excellent educational display, decoration for your home, or great addition to your Insects and Oddities collection. Lucite block measures approx. 4 1/4 inches tall, 1 1/2 inches wide.
