This little specimen is a real Bamboo Bee in resin, sometimes called a Carpenter Bee. Its scientific name is Xylocopa dissimilis. This particular species is typically recognized by it’s solid black body and often iridescent wings. This species is widely found throughout Southeast Asia. It is a major pollinator within the ecosystem, and is often mistaken for a bumblebee.
This real bee in resin makes for a cute gift or an excellent educational specimen. The amount of detail that can be seen through the crystal clear resin is amazing! This is such a unique little bee, I absolutely love how clear the resin is, you can see every little detail especially in the wings! I suggest putting it on a light stand to get the full beauty of it on display! 10/10
