Item description
This little, stunning, Beetle in Resin is a Blister Beetle. It’s of the family Meloidae and has a defensive secretion of a blistering agent, cantharidin. Some say it “spits acid.”
What you can’t see in the photos is that the orange is a beautiful, deep irredescense colration.
Lucite block measures approx. 1 3/4 inch tall by 1 1/8 inch wide.
As with all Insects in Resin, no two are the same. We gaurentee a quality specimen. Size, color and positioning can vary slightly from the one in the photos.
Again, really beautiful beetle and well crafted in the resin. And I really appreciate that you specify that this individual was approved by the FWS to not be irresponsibly taken from its environment. That really made the difference for me. Thank you
Exactly what I was looking for. He looks great with his other beetle friends! :)
