This seductively majestic bronze statue represents Bastet, the Egyptian cat goddess. She stands arms open, wearing a beautifully detailed Egyptian dress as she holds an ankh in one hand with a cat at her feet.
Made of a high quality cold cast bronze and hand painted subtle color accents. This Bastet statue is a stunning piece of Egyptian decor, measuring approximately 10 inches tall and 6 inches wide.
Bastet (also known as Baast, Baset or Ubaste) was the daughter of Re, the sun god. She was worshiped in ancient Egypt starting around 2890 BCE. She is the Goddess of cats, protection, fertility, perfume, and the arts.
This Bastet figurine far exceeded my expectations. The pictures do not do it justice. It is very well crafted and bigger than I expected. From the moment I took it out of the I felt the energy of Bastet and the figurine has a strong “Presence” to it. I performed a Bastet ritual using this statue on my altar and easily connected to the goddess. It worked so well it tripped me out. I am sure it was just the flickering of the candle light off the reflective surface but as I stared meditatively at the statue after my invocation, it appeared that statue moved. Sometimes the candle light reflected off her eyes making them appear like they were glowing. All I can say this figurine more than accomplished its intended purpose of heightening my connection with the Great Bastet.
I am absolutely in love with her. It is nice to have a nice piece not made of just resin. She has a decent heft to her. I am over the moon, extremely happy with her. RECOMMEND!
