Item description

Approved by USFWS (Fish and Wildlife) and legally obtained. This perfect specimen has hints of pale blue and white spots. Its wings have been gently spread and meticulously set within lucite, making it viewable from all side. This beetle in resin is an excellent addition to any entomological collection or teaching aid.

The longhorn beetles (Anoplophora chinensis), sometimes called longicorns, are a large family of beetles, with over 35,000 different species. The scientific name of this beetle family dates back to Greek mythology: after an argument with nymphs, the shepherd Cerambus was transformed into a large beetle with horns. Most of the species are characterized by their extremely long antennae, which are usually as long as or longer than the beetle’s body.

Lucite block measures approx. 3 inches square by 3/4 of an inch thick. Add a nice finishing touch to your Longhorn beetle with an optional display stand. Made of clear acrylic, this stand really enhances the piece, giving it a nice viewing angle. As with all real beetles in resin, size, coloration and positioning can vary slightly.
