This rare Miniature Uranium Glass Rosary is hand beaded using vintage, faceted, 6 mm uranium glass beads. This Vaseline Glass Rosary has a tiny Madonna centerpiece with a traditional crucifix. A lobster clasp has been added to be able to easily put this small rosary around your favorite items. Rosaries of this size have been traditionally been given as gifts to babies on the day of their baptism.

Uranium glass, sometimes called Vaseline glass was extremely popular during the 1950 – 1970s. When exposed to a black light it glows all sorts or eerie colors. It is not your regular glow-in-the-dark.

Measures approximately 5 1/4 inches long including a 1 inch crucifix. Diameter of the rosary loop is 6 1/4 inches. Your purchase will come in a jewelry box with a cute little organza bag, ready to give as a gift if you choose.

Uranium glass is glass which has had uranium added to it for coloration. Uranium is a naturally occurring, dense radioactive metal and is used as fuel in nuclear reactors. Since the amount is so low, this uranium glass rosary is completely harmless. The proportion is usually very low, about 2-10 percent.
