X4 (four) large Alligator Scutes. A unique characteristic of alligators is that they have both an endoskeleton and exoskeleton. An alligators dermal scutes are the boney plates that form down the animals back. These boney plates are directly under it’s skin and acts as a type of armor and protection for the alligator. These scutes also aid in temperature regulation.

We have seen a large amount of these alligator scales in our day, and these are excellent specimens! They are considered large in size and pristinely clean and whitened. These real animal bones make a unique and interesting addition to any oddities and curiosities collection.

You will receive 4 (four) Alligator scutes. Although they are considered large, each piece is unique in shape and size. They range approx. 1 3/4 inch to 2 1/4 inch in length. We will take the time to pick the best possible specimen for you.
