Glass jar measures approximately 1 1/2 dia. by 3 1/2 inches tall. Uranium glass, sometimes called Vaseline glass was extremely popular during the 1950 – 1970s. Uranium glass is glass which has had uranium added to it for coloration. Uranium is a naturally occurring, dense radioactive metal and is used as fuel in nuclear reactors. Since the amount is so low, these uranium glass marbles are completely harmless. The proportion is usually very low, about 2-10 percent.
