Radioactive Marbles, Uranium Glass Marbles, Multicolor Vaseline Glass

Part of our Curio Jar collection, these are uranium marbles that have been placed in a glass display jar. The optional ornate black base is what really gives it that modern oddities and curiosity decor style. When exposed to a black light they glows all sorts or eerie colors. It is not your regular glow-in-the-dark.

Glass jar with black plastic screw top measures approximately 1 1/2 diameter by 3 1/2 inches tall. Each marble is vintage and unique. Amount of Uranium in each marble can vary. Marbles measure between 9/16th to 10/16th of an inch in diameter. You will receive ones very similar to the ones photographed but not the exact same ones.

Uranium glass, sometimes called Vaseline glass was extremely popular during the 1950 – 1970s. Uranium glass is glass which has had uranium added to it for coloration. Uranium is a naturally occurring, dense radioactive metal and is used as fuel in nuclear reactors. Since the amount is so low, these uranium glass marbles are completely harmless.
