Item description

Approved by USFWS (Fish and Wildlife) legally obtained. This beautiful butterfly in resin has amazingly intricate patterns throughout its burnt orange wings. This species is Cethosia Biblis, commonly known as the Red Lacewing butterfly. It can be found in the lush forest of the Indian subcontinent and East Asia. It’s bright coloration and markings are a warning to predators that it has a bad taste, which comes from the poisonous host plant it fed on as a caterpillar.

This is a great piece to add to your collection or to be used as a teaching aid. The perfectly clear resin make it easy to see even the smallest of details from all angles.

The Lucite Butterfly display measures approximately 3 inches square. Add a nice finishing touch to your butterfly by including either a wooden LED lighted base or a clear acrylic stand.

Wood LED Display Base, Resin Specimen

As with all natural specimens, no two are the same. Size, coloration and positioning of butterfly with the resin can vary slightly. We guarantee a quality piece but not the exact one in photo.

I've purchased these before, and these were terrific! So, I decided to purchase them again, as a gift for a friend of mine who is an Elementary School Teacher. These are great hands-on teaching tools, which students/kids can touch and view both sides of the butterflies.
