This piece is on sale because we are discontinuing the item. This giant stag beetle (Dorcus titanus Platymelus) is recognized by it’s large pincers and glossy black body. It is a widely distributed species, living in Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Japan, and China. It can be found in tropical rainforests and temperate forests from the lowland to mountains.

This beetle is viewable from all sides, through the crystal clear lucite, making it an excellent scientific teaching aid or the perfect addition to any beetle collection.

*As with all real beetles in resin, size, coloration and positioning can vary slightly. Lucite block measures approx. 4 1/4 inches tall by 1 3/4 inches wide.
