This interesting and almost alien looking skull is that of a Red Eared Slider Turtle. (Trachemys scripta elegans) It is a very popular pet in the United States and around the world. Red-eared sliders are originally from the southern United States and northern Mexico, but have become established in other locations due to pet releases. They have become a danger to many local habitats and are  now included in the list of the world’s 100 most invasive species.

This small Turtle Skull measures approx. 2 inches long by 1 1/4 inches wide.
