Item description
This vintage style figurine is in perfect condition with no damage. When exposed to a black light, this classic pale green uranium glass figure looks like a glowing ghost of a Victorian man. Standing approx. 4 1/8 inches tall. Vaseline glass Victorian figure.
Uranium glass, sometimes called Vaseline glass was extremely popular during the 1950 – 1970s. When exposed to a black light it glows all sorts or eerie colors. It is not your regular glow-in-the-dark.
Uranium glass is glass which has had uranium added to it for coloration. Uranium is a naturally occurring, dense radioactive metal and is used as fuel in nuclear reactors. Since the amount is so low, this uranium glass figurine is completely harmless. The proportion is usually very low, about 2-10 percent.
